Moshi, Tanzania

Tübingen is on track to establish its first partnership with an African city. In July 2011, Mayor Boris Palmer and Raphael Japhary Michael, mayor of Moshi, signed a letter of intent which strengthened the desired city partnership.

The sister city partnership between Tübingen and Moshi should facilitate personal and institutional contacts and encounters, and enable collaborative work on common global objectives such as climate change and peace initiatives. Boris Palmer annouced the ambition to found a partnership with an African city at his inauguration in January 2007.
