Zwingel

Old walkway along the Neckar between the outer and inner old city wall that goes back to the 13th century – as shown by the Ghibelline masonry near the Neckar bridge. In the late 18th century the Hölderlin tower was built on the pedestal of the inner ring wall. The Zwingel is nowadays a popular meeting spot for students with view to the Plane Tree Avenue.
